Workshops are a wonderful way to focus your time on a particular skill. Workshops are given in small groups to provide individual attention to what you need and wish your time to be focused on during that workshop. Workshops will include various knit skills, crochet skills, finishing, themes, knit-a-longs, blocking and designing a sweater that fits you! Join Alasdair Post-Quinn for an all day workshop featuring the amazing technique, Double Knitting. Our all day workshop will include a basic Double Knitting 3 hour class in the morning AND a more advanced Double Knitting 3 hour class in the afternoon. Alasdair has been teaching double-knitting around North America since 2005. While he cannot claim to be the only one pushing these boundaries, Alasdair is among those on the forefront of innovation in double-knitting. Alasdair adds new techniques to his workshops regularly so that even experienced double-knitters or veterans of his previous workshops will have something new to learn.

Thrum Mitts Workshop: Sunday 11/5 & 11/12 9:30am-12noon
Thrum mitts are perfect for those cold winter days. Learn how to knit these warm and fashionable mittens using the hundreds of years old thrumming technique. Thrumming originated out of thriftiness utilizing short lengths of waste yarn as insulation for mittens and hats. Today, crafters use roving as the "thrum" which is separated into wisps, which are then knit into the stitches along with the working yarn.
